What to Expect
:: Come to MESA’s Worship Gathering at Murchison Middle School! Fresh Rwandan coffee is served at 9:45AM. Worship begins at 10:02AM. Map & directions.
:: When you come to the Worship Gathering, dress as comfortably and casually as you like. As you drive west of Mopac on Far West Blvd, watch for the MESA signs around Murchison Middle School. There's plenty of parking off North Hills Drive. Special parking places for visitors, the handicapped, and families with infants are located in the circle drive. You'll be warmly greeted by a member of our Welcome Team. Everyone is encouraged to make and wear a name tag, which helps us get to know each other.
:: If you have children, Welcomers will explain our children's ministry and show you where to take your kids based on their age. MESA’s faithful and fun children's ministry serves kids from birth to 5th grade.
:: The Welcome Team will guide you through the double doors on the right into the cafeteria. It’s transformed into sacred space for worship each Sunday. At the Information Table you can learn more about MESA—our small groups, upcoming events, and other ways you can connect with God and others in MESA. Delicious Rwandan coffee is served at 9:45AM. You can grab a cup and meet some new people or be seated and enjoy some time to yourself.
:: Worship begins at 10:02AM. The music is a blend of the best traditional hymns and the newest songs of praise. Portions of the Bible are read aloud. Sermons are biblical, relevant, and inspirational. There is time for reflection and prayer. Holy Communion is joyfully celebrated every week. (Every follower of Jesus Christ is welcome to receive the bread and wine. It's also okay to stay in your seat and not participate.) Children are encouraged to worship with their parents. Children pre-k through 5th grade process out behind the children’s cross to Kids Worship just before the message. The Children's Ministry Team leaders will go with them to their classrooms and bring them back just before Communion. During and after Communion, songs continue as trained prayer team members are available to pray with you for any need or concern. The Worship Gathering concludes with a blessing and dismissal around 11:20AM.
:: At the conclusion of worship you're invited to the Welcome Table to meet Pastor Matt. People like to mingle, so it's a great time to meet folks. Most weeks a group will grab lunch together—and you would be most welcome to join in!
